Getting Here

Quadra Canada

Taku Resort is on the eastern shore of Quadra Island in Canada’s magnificent BC Discovery Islands. The journey to Taku is itself an adventure that only serves to enhance the spectacular experience of a Gulf Island vacation, starting from the ferry ride across the Georgia Strait right up to the drive through the heartland of Vancouver Island.

You can also arrive by flying from Vancouver directly to Campbell River with Pacific Coastal Airlines and Central Mountain Air or flying from Calgary to Comox with West Jet. We can pick you up once you get off the ferry on Quadra Island. The most efficient and scenic alternative is chartering a sea plane with Harbour Air from Vancouver directly to our marina.

Driving Directions from Vancouver, Canada:

  1. Take BC Ferries to Nanaimo from Horseshoe Bay (10 minutes north of Vancouver). The crossing takes approximately 1½ hours, and the ferries offer a range of restaurants and shops. We strongly suggest you make a reservation during peak times. For reservations or schedule information, go to www.bcferries.bc.ca
  2. After driving off the ferry in Nanaimo, turn right out of the ferry terminal. You’ll see signs for Highway 19 North (“The Island Highway”). It is a newly upgraded, well-signed thoroughfare.
  3. Take the highway to Campbell River (approximately 150 km).
  4. Once in Campbell River, stay on the highway and look for signs for the Quadra Island Ferry. The terminal will be on your left just before you enter the heart of downtown. Ferries run every hour on the half hour. Check the BC Ferries website for scheduling. You must pay for your car and each passenger and it is a return ticket. The ferry trip takes less than ten minutes.
  5. After you disembark the ferry, follow the main road, veering left at the Plaza.
  6. Turn right at the 3-way stop and continue straight up hill until next 3-way intersection.
  7. Turn left and drive for approximately 7 minutes, passing Rebecca Spit Provincial Park.
  8. Taku Resort and Marina is on your right, just look for our sign.
