Getting Here

Taku Resort is on the eastern shore of Quadra Island in Canada’s magnificent BC Discovery Islands. The journey to Taku is itself an adventure that only serves to enhance the spectacular experience of a Gulf Island vacation, starting from the ferry ride across the Georgia Strait right up to the drive through the heartland of Vancouver Island.

Easiest and Fastest:

Fly from Vancouver South Terminal directly to Campbell River with Pacific Coastal Airlines and Central Mountain Air or fly from Calgary to Comox with West Jet.  There are taxis from the Campbell River Airport that can bring you to the ferry and once on Quadra we can arrange for a taxi to pick you up.  The most efficient and scenic alternative is chartering a sea plane with Harbour Air from Vancouver directly to our marina.

Enjoy the Journey:

Once in Nanaimo, drive north up Vancouver Island for 150km to Campbell River. Make the most of the drive and stop in at many of the attractions you pass. Our favourites are Coombs Old Country Market and Horne Lake Caves. Catch ferry in Campbell River to Quadra Island.  No need to reserve on this 10 minute ferry trip.  It runs almost hourly so it’s really easy.

Ferries don’t have to be dreaded:

As soon as you have booked with us we always suggest reserving the ferry from the lower mainland to Vancouver Island whether you’re coming from Vancouver or Tsawwassen.  This way you only have to arrive 30 minutes ahead of time and there’s no waiting to see what BC Ferry you get.  The ferry from Campbell River to Quadra Island is effortless.  You won’t need a reservation and the trip is so short you barely have enough time to leave your car.
